Description of Helen Simoneau’s technique class: This class utilizes a standing warm-up with exercises that develop a strong technical base focusing on efficient anatomical alignment while encouraging a full range of motion in the torso and articulation of the spine. An adagio phrase develops strength and stamina, while a fast and large moving combination, either across the floor or in center, explores full use of space, shifts of weight, physicality, momentum as well as a balance between precision and making it your own.

Helen Simoneau has attended the Lincoln Center Institute’s educator workshop which has influenced the nature of HSD workshops. Students are led through an experience of a HSD piece from the inside of the creation process. They are taught phrasework in addition to exploring specific tasks originally used in the creation of the work before viewing the piece either through demonstration or video.
Workshops can be tailored to any age and level of dance experience. Please contact us for current fees and availability.
